The Soul Of The Warm Soil

Beside the  open fire heating, the peculiarity of Zlakusa pottery is the raw material used for production.

The clay is dug in the village Vranjani, northwest from Pozega, from the sources that are two to eight meters deep. Afterwards it is being adapted, mixed with the whitish  stone – calcite, dug in the neighboring village Rupeljevo from the quarry which is more than two hundred years old.

The clay is mixed with the ground calcite on an one to one scale, which enables the “building” of the very large forms.
